The
Bible is the Word of God
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. The Bible in its entirety
is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
so that the children of God may be equipped for every good work. We believe
that the Holy Spirit works in conjunction with the Word of God to make the
Bible “living” and “powerful”. By knowing the Bible,
we better understand how to follow Jesus Christ and be His disciples. Worship
is Vital
We are excited about our personal relationship with God. We believe that the
vibrant worship of God is the most important focus of our lives. At Christ
Church of Arlington we unabashedly declare that we have a passion for God in
our worship. We pursue God’s glory. Our desire is to magnify and exalt
the name of Jesus Christ. The Lord is our Creator, and the One who continues
to powerfully affect our daily lives. He is holy; He is merciful and compassionate.
He is all-knowing and all-powerful. He is love. He alone is worthy of our worship. Disciples
of Jesus Christ
We want to follow Jesus Christ and be His disciples. We confess Jesus Christ
as the eternal God the Son, the only Savior of the world. We submit to Him
as the Lord of the living and living Head of His Church, which He purchased
with His own blood. We seek the fullness of joy that He intends to give us
now, and the indescribable pleasures that will be ours in Him through eternity.
We know that only intimate and sweet communion with our Lord Jesus Christ can
fully satisfy the deepest longings of our hearts. The
Gospel
We believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ should work within His disciples
to deepen and mature us. At the same time, it should be faithfully proclaimed
to the world in order that those who have not heard the good news about Jesus
Christ will hear it and be saved. We believe that Christians are called to
care for the poor, both spiritually and physically. All-inclusive
We believe that the church should welcome all who call upon the name of the
Lord Jesus Christ, regardless of gender, age, skin color, ethnicity, marital
status, or finances. Shepherd
Leadership
We believe that the church should train its leaders to be good shepherds of
the congregation. The shepherd leaders should know the needs of the flock and
minister to them accordingly. A good shepherd should serve and care for his
sheep. Grace
We believe that we have been saved by the grace of God through faith in Jesus
Christ. This is not of our own doing, but it is a gift of God. God, being
rich in mercy, because of His great love for us, made us alive together
with Jesus Christ. We have been saved by God’s grace and not the
result of our own works.
