ANOTHER GREAT RACE!
Christ Church of Arlington hosted its 4th annual Arlington Turkey Trot, a 5 kilo-meter fun run/walk through Lyon Park and Ashton Heights on Thanksgiving morning - November 26, 2009.
Nearly 2,000 people from Lyon Park, other parts of Arlington, and even across the country registered for the 2009 Trot, and over 1,600 finished the event.
Together we raised more than $33,000 for three charities in our community: Arlington-Alexandria Coalition for the Homeless ($13,454.50), Doorways for Women and Families ($13,454.50), and Arlington Food Assistance Center ($6,727.26)
We’re grateful to the Lord for the great services these charities provide to the needy, the opportunity we have to support them, and the tremendous community support shown to them through the Turkey Trot.

The
mission of the Arlington Turkey Trot is to provide an opportunity
for people of all ages to enjoy a fun, healthy Thanksgiving activity
together,
and to raise support for three local charities: Arlington-Alexandria
Coalition for the Homeless (AACH), Doorways for
Women & Families, and Arlington
Food Assistance Center. Visit our "Local
Ministries" page for more about these
three groups.
In 2008, (see photos)
the Arlington Turkey Trot had 1,501 registered
participants and we raised $23,150 for
two charities.
We
celebrate God's grace in blessing this effort to help
our community. Past
