Arlington-Alexandria Coalition for
the Homeless (AACH)
AACH serves families in transition in our neighborhood. ~ read
more about AACH
Over the past year, we have been partnering with them to serve our community.
We participate in their "Adopt a Family" program by providing
support for a family that is in the process of transitioning from homelessness
to independence.
Through this program we are able to develop a closer relationship with
a family and are better able to be involved in their life. And
for the past two years we have participated in AACH's “Look Cool
for School” Drive by purchasing new clothes for kids in their transitional
housing program. For more information or to get involved, contact Alice
Mar at acjhs@juno.com
Arlington Food Assistance Center
Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) is dedicated to providing
supplemental groceries to Arlington residents who cannot afford to
purchase sufficient food to meet their basic needs. It complements
the work of AACH, Doorways, the Arlington County Department of Human
Services, Arlington churches, and other social service agencies by
providing groceries to families and individuals referred by those
organizations. ~ Read more about AFAC.
