The CCA Delivers Donations Raised by the
2010 Arlington Turkey Trot to Three Local Charities

"It's an Arlington tradition!"

On Sunday, February 27th, Christ Church of Arlington (CCA), on the corner of Pershing and Highland, delivered a check to each of the three charities that were honored in the "2010 Arlington Turkey Trot" last Thanksgiving.

Approximately $33,000 was raised to support Arlington-Alexandria Coalition for the Homeless (AACH), Doorways for Women & Families (DWF), and Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC). In addition, many racers brought canned goods, gift cards or other requested items to assist the charities.

Over the past five years, more than $100,000 has been dispersed to the local charities because of the Arlington Turkey Trot. Christ Church of Arlington and the charities greatly appreciate the Lyon Park community and everyone who participated in the race and made it another great success.

The Arlington Turkey Trot, a 5k Fun Run/Walk, was CCA's 5th annual race and 2,300 participants were registered. The race has become a family tradition for many in the Arlington community. The CCA's mission for the race is to raise support for the three local charities and to provide an opportunity for people of all ages to enjoy a fun, healthy Thanksgiving activity together.
